What's Next: Implementing Research Practices: Cupertino, CA
Invited with my administrator, to participate with 10 other Apple Distinguished Schools in an 18 month research seminar with Apple Inc. Worked with educational researchers Ruben Puentedura and Damian Bebell to conduct a mixed methods research study to increase reading achievement coupling digital interactive leveled text, professional development and parental involvement. NWEA results indicated an increase in reading achievement from September to December. Parents and students indicated they were more involved in reading together at home as a result of the digital tools provided.

Awarded $3,000 to enhance Lightsail eLibrary @Emma K Doub. 310 students had access to the eLibrary collection and benefitted from this award. School wide incentives were established and teacher professional development were included to maximize potential of the interactive digital library. |

Proud recipient of a full scholarship to the Summer Teachers Academy held July, 2013 in New Jersey. The week long workshop was in partnership with NSTA to deepen math and science content, increase knowledge of instructional resources and enhance student learning.
